Can you connect me with a manufacturer?

At the right time, we will provide training that includes the criteria for selecting a manufacturer and we will help you determine what questions to ask and how to negotiate with them. However, we cannot promise a connection to a manufacturer.

What kinds of electrical and mechanical products do you support?

LMK Innovation specializes in electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical products. Materials may include plastic, metal, electronics and elastics. Some soft goods are supported if there are mechanical components attached to the final product. Here are some examples of products our past clients have developed through our consultation:

  • A new waterproof cast that protects the arm and wrist
  • A concept for a Med-tech wearable t-shirt that determines highly elevated heart rates (think a Fitbit meets clothing)
  • A bracelet that combined coding with fashion to get more women into coding and technology
  • Digital office equipment

What do I need to have in place before we can begin the consulting process?

The consultancy has worked with serial inventors and companies that are beyond the startup stage with an outside source of funding. LMK Innovation will meet you wherever you are in your product innovation journey anywhere from concept to launch.

I have my drawings and prototype. What’s next?

After reviewing the self-assessment of milestones completed, LMK Innovation will evaluate what is next in your product innovation journey.

My patent is pending. Is there anything I can do while I wait for approval?

Create a plan to get your product sold in the marketplace and act on that plan. LMK Innovation can help by identifying milestones and actions to avoid costly implementation mistakes.

Can you connect me to sales channels like QVC or Walmart?

LMK Innovation will engage its vast network to connect you to experts who are knowledgeable in this area. Connecting to sales channels is outside the scope of services.

Can I invite Leslie to speak at my event?

In the past, Leslie has participated in panel discussions and fireside chats on various topics related to manufacturer selection, moving physical product throughout the manufacturing and distribution process, the marriage of hardware/software and differences in bringing them to market, Black Women in Science and other topics that touch on STEM. Fill out our contact form to get in touch.

Will you tell me if my product is “good” or not?

One thing  we won’t do for a prospective client is judge their product! If you believe you are filling a need or solving a problem, have the market research to back it up, and have the funding and determination to see your product through the product innovation process, we are more than happy to help you.
